Find out if you have to pay taxes on the goods you bring into the country
A duty-free allowance is the benefit that allows you to bring into the country merchandise in addition to your personal baggage without paying taxes. The allowed amount depends on the entry route, the value of the merchandise, and the type of traveler.
PASSENGER
Your allowance as a passenger:
- Up to 500 dollars or its equivalent in national or foreign currency, regardless of whether the passenger enters the country by land, air or sea.
The allowances of your family members are cumulative if they arrive in the national territory simultaneously and by the same means of transport.
RESIDENTS IN THE BORDER STRIP OR REGION
